Some time ago when building a home for my family I was asking myself what would be the best way for implementing infrastructure facilities like light, heating, etc. Being a techie I don't wanted to implement technology from the late 18th century, where every car in the meantime offers more comfort functions. That was the reason why I decided to implement EIB/KNX for the first time.

After having the basic functionality working I discovered many more possibilities. Like in many other areas especially the integration with other systems like heating, ventilation, multi-media and the like results in a solution that is more than the sum of its parts.
