This perl script sends SMS using a GPRS modem connected to your server. It works with RS232 and USB modems if your OS provides a serial port for the USB modem (like Linux does in most cases). I use it on RedHat Linux systems together with Nagios to send notifications. Since the GPRS modem is independent of the network and phone lines, it provides an additional redundancy level (if you also use e-mail for notifications) to get the notifications on the way.

Microsoft includes a fulltext search engine in all of it's recent server operating systems, but does not provide an easy interface for users in a network to search such a catalog.

The following PHP script generates such an interface and can be used on an intranet fileserver to have fulltext search capabilities.
